Fairy Tale Manor

Well, Amanda and I traveled all the way to Frisco today to check out Fairy Tale Manor. And I think we’ve found our venue. It was a little smaller than it looks in the photos…but the staff is great…the inclusive stuff is fabulous…and you can’t beat the payment plan. Whew! Now we just have to get our deposit together and sign a contract. They aren’t the cheapest venue…but they give the most bang for the buck (ceremony & reception site, caterer, centerpieces, DJ, etc. all in the package)…so I’m excited about using them. And with my obsessive personality, it’s nice to have the venue decided so I can move on to other things…like the cake, invitations, save-the-dates, etc.

I really like that the place is truly a blank canvas. We can add what we want…and with Lori Honeycutt to help me, I know it will be AMAZING! I love having creative friends…they make life so freakin’ cool! Besides, I don’t get to see my Lori enough…so I’ll enjoy some quality time! I’ll post soon with pics of the wedding theme, ideas for favors, etc.

I think the most difficult thing will be the bridesmaids dresses….we have such a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and personalities…but we’ll get it all worked out in the end.

I’d like to give props to my hubby who is putting up with (sort of) my uber obsessive, non-stop talking about the wedding. I really should get a part time job with an even planning company…I love this stuff.

And of course, the best part of the day was spending some quality time with my daughter. We even tried on wedding dresses (by we – I mean she). I’m going to BAWL when I see her in her dress next June…I got teary-eyed just watching her try on dresses today. Sigh. My little girl…all grown up and saving China! (obscure Mulan reference…we’re a Disney household).

Gotta go – Mavs are playing and I’m off to watch!
